Wedding guests dressed up to the nines hopped across the street for the Reception which took place at the fitting Cape Town Club. Fitting since the couple hosted a wedding with Gatsby theme. Cape Town Club was designed by Sir Herbert Baker in 1898. When you walk into this venue, the smell of history meets you – original wood panel walls, leather armchairs and then that clock. Always set to 5:15pm.

In the meantime we left for our creative shoot to a quiet, but so windy spot that I’ve discovered some years ago (the South Easter looked good on them though!) and off course I couldn’t resist taking photographs inside the Club too. Lee-Shay and Ciaran was the perfect picture of elegance and I absolutely love every minute in their presence.

Wedding guests got treated to a full on jazz orchestra after the heartfelt speeches – it just doesn’t get better than that.

This is what Ciaran wrote me after their viewing:

“Thanks so much Charlene, we just finished looking… No, wait … rather … Finished being in absolute awe of the portraits that you took!!! I doubt that awe will ever end!!!! It was absolutely breathtaking, from beginning to end. It was art! Words cannot begin to explain how gifted you are, how beautiful your soul is to capture these moments as you do and how grateful we are for that. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us! Shay is right, you’re a genius. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know you. Thanks again so much! Lots of love from Shay and I”

Words like these always come down the “my WHY”.

I know that these images will become family heirlooms that will be cherished forever.

Thank you Lee-Shay & Ciaran for choosing me to create this for you. Lots of love, Chaz
